The 2021 Augusta National Women's Amateur champion will make her second appearance.

Two years ago, at the age of 17, she shot a final-round 72 at Augusta National and then defeated Emilia Migliaccio on the first playoff hole. After her victory, she admitted, "I was so nervous, and I've never been nervous before. I just trusted where the caddie pointed, and I just putted."

Her victory was the start of a historic year for golf in Japan with Hideki Matsuyama winning both the Masters and a PGA Tour event in Japan, Mone Inami winning the silver medal in the Olympics in Tokyo, Keita Nakajima winning the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship and the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the top-ranked amateur in the world and Mizuki Hashimoto winning the Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur.

Since her win at Augusta National, the now 19-year-old has represented her country on the biggest amateur and professional stages in the United States, Europe and Japan. In 2021, she made the cut in the Amundi Evian Championship in France and the Japan Women's Open.
